Thanks Mr. Berry

I just read my first Wendell Berry book and I still have a bit of that literary glow.

You know, when you've read the right kind of book. The kind of book that makes you want to settle down and think about the future. Flip through the pages you just read just so you don't have to turn out the light and go to sleep. Yes, Wendell Berry, if Facebook was slightly more Book and much less Face we would currently be "in a relationship." There have been other authors I've been a little more "complicated" with (Sorry Mr. Capote, I just don't think I'm what you're looking for!), but right now it's all about the Wendster. How can you not love a man who says something like this?

“When despair for the world grows in me, and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be -- I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought or grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.”
