I mean really, I can't even commit to the blogosphere?
Can't believe I just used that word, wow, that's an obnoxious one.
It's really hit me lately how often I eaaase my way out of commitments, social, spiritual, creative, doesn't matter. I will think of a last-minute way to justify how not to do it.
A Short List of Things (in no particular order) I Have Decided Not to Do at the Last Minute:
-Feb 2007-LSU Grad school (did not turn in application)
-September 2004 (?)-go to Arcade Fire show, subjected to a constant barrage of "This is aaawesome" and "I think I'm crying but i'm so happy!" text messages
-Feb 2007-move back to Louisiana
-Feb 2008-making valentines for friends. result: a pile of overpriced crafty goods i can add to other piles of crafty goods. anybody need 4 yards of plaid flannel? I haz some.
-December 2007-Belmont Grad school (did turn in application)
-January 2002-be a journalist
-October 2003-be an interior designer
So is this just me? I sincerely hope it's not and that I can blame it on some sort of ridiculous quarter-life crisis or emotional fatigue. Or maybe I can just accuse my natural joi de vivre (white people love bilingual children!) for making me so enthusiastic about certain things for about, eeeh, 30 minutes.
Of course I am focused enough to watch 6 hours of Battlestar Galactica. That either says something very good or very bad about me, not sure which.
Reminds me of how Chuck Klosterman writes that he can't change a tire or sew on a button, but he knows exactly when the tv commercial break is going to end.
Oh life skills, I wish I had you.
Note: According to my friend Katie, a giggle loop is when you start to giggle and can't stop and it gets worse and worse.
